Terms

What we agree to do, what we deliberately do not promise, what it costs and how either of us ends it. Written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

Who you are contracting with

Skiplink is operated by the entity named at the bottom of this page. These terms are between you and that entity. Where you buy a paid plan through our payment provider, that provider is the seller of record for the transaction and its own terms cover the payment itself; everything about the service is covered here.

What the service does

Skiplink runs automated accessibility checks against web pages you choose, reports what failed with the measurement and the threshold it missed, and — on the paid plans — repeats those checks on a schedule and keeps the history.

The extension performs its audit inside your own browser. Whole-site scans and scheduled monitoring run on our servers, which fetch the pages you have asked us to check.

What we do not promise

This is the part most terms bury, so it is near the top instead.

Beyond that, the service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and to the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Your account

You need an account for anything that is stored: share links, monitoring, and the history. Keep your sign-in secure; anything done through your account is treated as done by you. One person or organisation per account — sharing an account across separate businesses is what the plans are for.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must not be on a sanctions list we are required to check.

What you may point it at

Scanning fetches pages, which means it touches somebody's server. So: scan sites you own or have permission to scan, and nothing else.

Your content and ours

Findings, reports and monitoring history belong to you. You grant us only what we need to run the service — storing them, rendering them, and sending them to the address you nominate. We do not use your findings to train anything or sell them to anyone.

The software, the site and the wording belong to us. The Agency plan lets you put your own name and logo on a report; it does not transfer anything else.

What we collect and how long we keep it is in the privacy notice, and every third party that touches it is listed on the sub-processors page.

Paying

Paid plans are billed in advance for the period you choose and renew automatically until you cancel. Prices are shown before you buy; taxes are handled by our payment provider and shown at checkout.

If a payment fails we will retry and tell you. If it keeps failing the account drops to the free limits rather than being deleted — your history stays where it is.

Refunds and cancellation are on the refunds page.

Changing the service, and these terms

We will add and change things. If a change removes something you are paying for, or these terms change in a way that affects you, we will email account holders before it takes effect and you can cancel and be refunded for the part of the period you have not used. The date at the top of this page changes whenever the text does. We do not quietly widen it.

Ending it

You can cancel whenever you like; the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. You can ask us to delete your account and its data, and we will.

We can suspend or end an account that breaks the rules above — chiefly scanning things you have no right to scan. Where it is not urgent we will tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it first.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, United States, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, this does not take away rights you have under the law of the country you live in, including your right to bring a claim there.
